The only full-sized virtual escape room available on the platform. This experience is also the only escape room to offer an exclusive hour-long continuation of the game after the initial 15-minute playthrough. The creators say they did this to make the experience feel more personal and provide some sense of closure. This escape room is only available on both the Oculus Rift and Gear VR, so it’s worth noting that you will need a smartphone or a laptop to access the VR experience.
Halloween Escape Room isn’t just any Halloween escape room. It’s exclusive to VR and takes place in a multi-room haunted house. The entire concept is to scare the hell out of you and have you solve puzzles while running away from a variety of boogeymen. Players must use their intuition and careful planning to escape the haunted house before night falls and the boogeymen find you.
VR vendors are also coming up with their own escape room games. The aforementioned YouEscape offers the space shooter game Wraith. It’s a new take on the classic Russian roulette style shooter that lets you re-live classic shoot ’em up adventures. But like traditional escape rooms, you must work together to complete the puzzles.
