I was expecting a straight forward superhero movie with a female lead. But what the movie actually brings to the table is so much more, it shows Wonder Woman as a human being and she has a life that is not as one-dimensional as we’d believe her to be. Although the story is predictable, it was a breath of fresh air. There were elements of the “Super” in Wonder Woman’s character that we never thought we would see.
I can honestly say I am now a Wonder Woman fan.
The plot follows Diana Prince. Wonder Woman, as she prefers to be called. The interlinked stories, set in many places during the war, combine to chronicle her rise, seemingly at the expense of her humanity, to be a major player in the conflict between the Axis powers and the Allies. By the end of the film, she is a goddess, empowered to inspire love and protect humanity.
I love the ending to “Wonder Woman”. The movie has a very different feel to it when compared to “Game of Thrones” and a lot of other hits of the same nature. The tone is very different and I don’t really know what to make of this kind of movie. I did like it.
It’s a really well-written and thought-out script for a film with a female protagonist. As well as playing the iconic character Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot provides the perfect balance between strength and vulnerability. She was a very relatable character. She was strong but also vulnerable.
These movies, and indeed the live action movies in general, are visually spectacular. “Wonder Woman” is no exception. The effects are fabulous, and even if you don’t like movie-making, this deserves to be on anyone’s must-see list.
